I really liked the Nikon 35mm 1.4G, so could be a nice contender.

the 35-150mm looks really interesting for an all around portrait lens.

for sure, a very usable focal range and a very respectable max aperture at all given focal lengths. depending on where I was travelling, I'd probably want to pack something else for wide shots inside buildings however.
