When the 1300 acre St. Louis Forest Park was created in the 1800s there was a natural river running through the park -- The River Des Peres. By the time the 1904 World's Fair was hosted in the park they had begun burying the river as it was by then a smelly eyesore. (It still runs under the park in concrete tunnels). In the mid 1990s work began to restore a waterway in the park; today's Taylor Kindle River. This gloomy morning I walked along much of it's 2.5 miles. Oly Pen E-PL5 w/14-42mm
