Teleconverter SAL-20TC (Sony) compatible with Sigma lenses?

Hi,

I'm looking to acquire the 2x TC from Sony (SAL-20TC). On their compatibility list for lenses, they mention their G series as well as some lenses from Minolta.

What I need to know if it will also be compatible with some of the Sigma lenses, or if they don't mention them just because it's a third party manufacturer.

Anyone has had any experience with this?

It's only compatible with the G lenses. I'd think you'd be better off buying a third-party option. But if you have the cash...

You could also get the sigma version of the 2x tele-converter.

The thing is that I'd probably be able to get one for 5 times less the retail price. New.

But if it's only compatible with the G lenses, I don't think it's worth it.

Same problem there. They have a list of compatible lenses. But what about the others, would they mount but not have functional AF or something like that?
