The Coffee House

So on another topic....

I am amazed at when a band decides to reunite and tour again... which i am sure is simply for the money. My example is "Oasis" now that Liam and Noel Gallagher (brothers) have decided to stop feuding. What gets me is the hype this has created. The radio stations are jumping all over this even here in Canada playing their past hits over and over again. Now look i don't mind a few of their songs "Wonderwall?, "Champagne Supernova" to name a few but the the absolutely ridiculous prices on the tickets etc is crazy. Not that they were not famous as they certainly were especially over in the UK.... but only 1 top ten hit (8th) etc. Anyways just thought i would post something in here LOL.
Another pension tour?

What the market will bear, right? Apparently there are folks with money to burn, probably because they don't have photography as a hobby.

Well, fortunately for us,not so much for others, Helene came ashore far enough east that the outer edge of the West side looks like it will mostly miss us. Unfortunately our son, in Marietta wasn't as lucky, early front yesterday brought down a Pine tree on his home. Despite being a large tree, the damage was limited to the roof and soffit.

Hope all the TPF members dealing with Helene are safe

At least everyone is OK; a roof can be fixed.

Does anyone know the answer to this, with the nikon Z series how long after each model did they release the mark 2's?

Are they gonna do a mark 2 of the Z8?
There is no real policy for replacing camera models. The companies do start working on a camera a couple of years (or more) before it is released, but design teams don't necessarily work on the next generation of the same product, so when the design work of a Z8 is done, the team may be shuffled with one or two people working on one new product and some others working on something else.

As for a Z8 mark 2, well, there will probably be a camera to replace it eventually, but do you care if it is called something else? The companies bring out what they think will sell (and afford to bring out). That's all you can say about it. For example, go back a few years and Nikon did not have a digital interchangeable camera at all. Then they brought out DSLRs, and then the Nikon 1 series (1" sensor mirror-less interchangeable lens cameras), and then Z-mount cameras. Look for specific replacement models and maybe you find them and maybe you don't. . . .

I thought about you when Helene started to get closer to landfall - but yes, fortunately for you all it veered further east than was predicted.

Large pine trees were responsible for taking out portions of the roof of the house and adjacent garage of my late in-laws home in Texas when Hurricane Ike 🌀 came through there. An open roof is no joke - all that rain pouring in can do a lot of interior damage. It was 8 months before they could move back in.

How wide spread the damage is from Helene will take a few days to assess. Ugh. :(

Yesterday I just got a new monitor. Its a Dell U2723QE that has a built in docking station I can use with my Macbook Pro and it works quite well! It is weird using a laptop for everything but its kinda nice because I use it at my desk with the monitor and have a desktop experience or I can grab the laptop and use it elsewhere. Kind of best of both worlds.

@terri Helene left a parting gift for son... flooded a basement bedroom and a storage room. Think he's glad she's gone

It has been raining steady here in St Louis. A local balloon show is today and tomorrow. Looks like a bust.

I saw video of Helene's damage down south. Hope all is okay.
