The End of Fall--Comments And Critiques?

The HDR rendering seems just a little bit too low in contrast, a bit too "flat" in the middle tone values, at least to me. I kind of like the little rainbow effect there at the bottom, where the water meets the shore. I think the vignette on the lower right and upper right is not needed, and makes the shot look "less real", and a bit too "processed", and by processed I mean contrived, or faked, or something like that. It's got a "this is what things looked like at the lake" vibe going, and to me, excessive vignetting spoils that documentary/realistic type of vibe, and moves a photo more into a "here is how I processed this shot" kind of feeling. I think the shot could be tone-mapped a bit differently, and it would be stronger. Ditch the vignette,and strive for a more blinding sunshine-type look,and it would really have that you-were-there thing more.

Thanks! The source images don't have as much "intense-sun" as I'd like, but I see what you mean. Also, I see how the vignette is tacky. Good call.
