The Green Barbet

[psran]

It was a very tough task spotting this Lovely creature as it's colour mixes in the Background so well. Had some tough time chasing him but results seem worth it

Nice shots Prabhjeet, but what is this creature? Looks like a hybrid between a cat(whiskers) and a kingfisher

Although I think you've missed the focus just by a bit, it looks focused on the left top corner leaf rather than on the bird. But it can be very difficult to focus due to the colour of the bird. I think you did a great job and #2 looks best to me

I think you missed the title of Thread , the bird is called Large Green Barbet or Brown Headed Barbet. This Bird is only found in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh so it's an indigenous species

Yes I did miss focus in some pics

Thanks for sharing such a unique creature. Nice shots. I wonder how many times you have walked right under them and just did not see them.

What an unusual colour and looks like a lime green. Nice shots in tricky conditions among the branches, well done. Never heard of these or seen one on the net before. Nice details and a very interesting one. I'll have to Google them.

All the best and good on you, love that green.

Danny.
