Thanks very much, Carol :blushing:I really like this. Aside from the obvious aurora, I like how the pattern in the snow leads the eye to the right, and with the house leaning to the right and the coloration pattern in the sky being more open on the left [without the clouds] I feel as if there is going to be a swirling gust of wind that will lift the house up in the air at any minute. I love so many of your photos. You have such a gift for creating images that speak to people on so many levels.
How much are you ready to invest? Let's chat.Is the property for sale? Maybe I could afford it!
The best angle to shoot this house (due to the obvious lean) was this. Once that was decided, I wanted to include in the frame both the aurora on the left and the clouds on the right the clouds play a big part in my composition. So I kinda didn't have a choice (and I really don't shy away from centred subjects, anywayComposition-wise I would have gone for something with the building a bit off centre, but that might be just my personal taste.
LOL! The aurora was a blast in this area for three days. I caught the tail end of the festivities, and I feel lucky.I was too late this year for the best Northern lights, I envy youThe best ones I saw when we were leaving the sauna naked ... without a camera then of course
(rolling nude in -30°C snow is fun though)
Just because it's you, you can have it for $400.USD 2000 would be my offer, plus/minus 1500 depending on location.
A really strong composition. I do prefer the original, the 2nd picture because of all the texture in the snow that's missing in your crop.
Definitely. I created the cropped version to send it to the science magazines and such, to see if they'd be interested in using it in case they had an article coming up on the solar storm (the cropped version highlights the sky and the aurora, while the uncropped version uses the sky just as background). None of the science journals have bitten yet...I do prefer the original, the 2nd picture because of all the texture in the snow that's missing in your crop.
LOL!!! I don't know how much anybody can learn from me (or even worse: how much I'd be able to teach, if anything at all). I do know that my bag breaks my back sometimes... so let's talk(Invisible.. do you want an apprentice?) :greenpbl:
