I spent the day at the Wichita Wildlife Refuge yesterday and shot some photos of the wildlife while there I photographed this tower I have always referred to it as "The Keep" because that's what it reminds me of, a medieval keep or tower. It is built from local stone and was built by the CCC in the 1930's as most of the structures on the part was. I am guessing it was used as a fire observation tower by the park rangers at one time but from the looks of it like many of the older buildings at the park they are no longer actually used as there are newer structures that have been built.
