The arrival of the Priest at the remote 18th century French forts and villages was a cause for much celebration. Weddings, baptisms, and other Church affairs could be attended to, as well as the latest news from the outside world.

I just happened to get the shot when the paddlers were pulling hard (hence the spray) to maneuver across the current for the landing.
