2nd picture: great shot, bad background. try for something similar against a white background or some columns, or an ornate chair, and you'll definately have a winner.

The first is a very nice snapshot, and the second could be a wonderful portrait if there were some highlights not only on her dress but also in her hair and eyes. I find her face a tad too dark.

The background doesn't bother me too much, but something more romantic in style would have gone better with her lovely dress - in so far I tend to agree to what judehei is saying.
