The Spider shoot has ended. One of the worlds most beautiful Arachnids.

I found out that she is called an Orchard Spider. She's considered to be one of the worlds most beautiful arachnids. I've searched for photos of this spider on the web and they are beautiful. But I found none more beautiful than this specimen. I just got lucky, I suppose. She stayed in place for 4 days and in that time I stalked her. lol. Last night the winds kicked up around here and I knew she'd probably moved on. It was almost like losing a friend. I had never seen a spider like this, perhaps because they are so small you just don't see them. I would estimate the body to be roughly the size of a BB. This was a challenging subject. I had a lot of fun with it. Theses are a few of the images I came up with. Enjoy.

If those htings were squirrel sized I don't think any of us would get close enough to one to even get these kinds of details without a serious telephoto haha.

Very nice shot indeed. I've tried to capture some local spiders but they have been less the receptive to my overtures. If I were in your shoes right now I would be very pleased with myself. At least one of these should be enlarged and hung on a wall.
