The first sports some very intense colours. But I personally (not being the "I'm all for centredness"-type) don't like the sun to be right in the middle. I think if I had stood on your balcony, I would have shifted the camera to the left, also to avoid that power line and pole as much as possible.

The second is too close a crop.
The palmtree is not "whole", and the photo has no "anchor".

Yes, I personally prefer those. The new one here is like I inwardly pictured the first to be. In the end, however, it is your photo and you must stick to what you like best.
