The Wizard Nebula!

The pictures in red are seriously beautiful. P'm me if u have a facebook page.

Why don't you use a reflecting telescope? I was going to build one for $500.00 but some creep ran me over and stole my camera.
Thanks! I do have a reflector, as well. I have an 8" SCT. There are benefits and drawbacks for both, depends on budget and use case. Sorry about getting run over, that sucks!

Really nice stuff!

I'm curious -- Given the weight of an AT130 are you using a CW with your mount, just to keep the physics in check (and the mount upright)? A 130 isn't some big old StarFire monster, but it's not a featherweight either. Just curious.
I don't use a counterweight for it. My mount is rated for 43lbs without a counterweight and 55 with one. The harmonic drive mounts really have revolutionized things. I was a bit concerned about the rig topling over when i put it together, so I slewed it all around to make sure it wouldn't!

Yeah, that was what I was wondering about. No doubt on the capacity, but physics is physics if it gets too far out of balance.
I also slewed it to the points it was most out of balance and pushed on it to make sure I wasn't getting lucky and as soon as I walked away a butterfly fart pushed it over the edge 😅
