Imaged over the past two nights from my Bortle 5/6 back yard, I present the Wizard Nebula! Located in the constellation Cepheus, this nebula sits 8500 light years away.

The first image, as captured, is seen in the natural reds of the prominent ionized hydrogen gas and the second image is converted to an HOO color palette, assigning the gold colors to hydrogen and the blues to oxygen. Each version has its own benefits. The image in reds shows a lot of faint hydrogen gas all throughout the background, while the HOO version helps to highlight some of the structures in the nebula. Along with each version is a cropped version with the stars removed to help highlight the details of the nebula.

-Astro-Tech AT130EDT 130mm f/7 telescope with a 0.8x reducer, making it a 728mm focal length, f/5.6 scope.
-ZWO ASI2600MC Pro cooled camera
-ZWO EAF focuser
-iOptron HAE43 Strain Wave Gear mount
-Optolong L-Extreme dual narrowband filter
-Pegasus Astro Mini Powerbox
-Orion 60mm guide scope
-Orion Starshoot autoguider
-Controlled with a MeLE Quieter4C mini PC running Windows

Software
-Sequence Generator Pro for acquisition
-PixInsight and Photoshop for image processing
-PHD2 guiding software

-200 x 180sec subexposures
-calibrated with 15 each darks, flats, and dark flats
-Total integration time of 10hrs

Wow, really nice. I have a friend into this, so much so, that he built his own backyard mini planetarium, complete with a sliding roof. He had a 30" hole dug and poured a concrete pillar for equipment.

Thanks! My goal is to pour a concrete pier in the back yard at some point. It makes for a much more rigid setup, which makes for more consistent tracking and resistance to any wind. Building an enclosed observatory is unfortunately out of the question as my wife would probably end me if I did..

Wonderful shots again, keep ‘em coming!

Great images.

The pictures in red are seriously beautiful. P'm me if u have a facebook page.

Why don't you use a reflecting telescope? I was going to build one for $500.00 but some creep ran me over and stole my camera.

Really nice stuff!

I'm curious -- Given the weight of an AT130 are you using a CW with your mount, just to keep the physics in check (and the mount upright)? A 130 isn't some big old StarFire monster, but it's not a featherweight either. Just curious.

To improve your VPS performance, consider using a lightweight operating system, ensuring adequate CPU, RAM, and disk space, using a Content Delivery Network (CDN), enabling caching, optimizing your web server, optimizing your database, using monitoring tools, keeping your operating system and software up to date, limiting background processes, implementing security measures, scheduling regular backups, and using SSD storage. These strategies can significantly improve the performance and efficiency of your VPS, ensuring smooth application operations. Regular updates, security measures, and regular backups can help ensure your VPS runs smoothly for your applications.
