Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
So I went out looking for some wildlife yesterday, didn't find much. I did find this old house and tree out in the middle of nowhere that was pretty neat (at least the only interesting thing I found during the day). I'm not usually a B&W kind of guy, but this one looks significantly better in B&W than color so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Nice... except the solid black square on the right bottom corner

its part of another building foundation of some sort, the harsh lighting on it and BW conversion pulls most of the detail out, I thought about cloning it out, just haven't yet.

I really like it.

My only nitpick is I wonder what it would look like if the shadow from the tree was falling the other way, like if the sun was in a different position. I'm by no means saying it would look better, just curious. The shadow kinda takes away from the detail of the building IMO.

yeah I agree. I actually just stumbled on the house (this was taken at roughly 2pm) while exploring, so unfortunately I never saw it with the sun on the opposite side. perhaps I'll venture back someday in the morning.

Here's a re-edit with that stonework dodged a little so its not totally black. I forgot to save my psd file on the first one, so I had to re-edit the whole thing, so processing my be slightly different on this one.

Thanks Tim

You call that a house? Kidding, very cool shot... really like the second edit best.

Anthony

maybe half of a house since the back is fallen down heheh :D thanks Anthony, yeah I like the second edit better too.

I think the square looks a little unnatural in the edit. I'd say the first is better. I do like the photo very much.

I really like the punchy contrast and dramatic sky. Well done.

thanks, yeah they each have their pros and cons, I can see where you're coming from though. I like how the dark side of the house came out in the re-edit more than the original, but the square is always the odditiy. I may just clone it out altogether at some point.
