I'll be honest, as much as I love you, I'm QUITE tempted to ban you just because you asked for it, in more ways that one.

Let this thread serve as evidence that we mods aren't the giant horrible monsters we are sometimes made out to be.

Now please handle this in a better way so we can all walk away with our guns holstered. K?

Just reading the rule, it sounds like it is ok. I was not self-advertising. If I ever invented a photography product, I will certainly contact ffarl or 4nines first.

its not necessarily that we disagree with you Robin, its just that crowdfunding campaigns have come up few times recently, and have been problems in the past, so the admins have asked that we keep a tight lid on them. there are definitely exceptions, which is why the official rule advises to contact an admin for permission to post instead of just an outright ban.

Just to remind members - mods don't decide on the advertising policy on the site. That is an area totally in control of the admin. This includes where we end up in the grey area such as with KS campaigns. The admin are friendly, approachable and generally around very often so whilst you might not see them posting day to day on the site they are there paying attention.

We mods are only enforcing the policy we are given and where it comes to a grey area we either err on the side of caution and/or recommend the user contact the admin for a firm answer.
