Is there a way to use my D3000 for a time lapse project? I have been looking through the menus but cant seem to find the right setting. Thanks!

So you have to buy an accessory in order to take a time lapse? I was hoping it was already built into the internal cameras timer.......

The D3000 is an entry level camera,an old one at that. Features like time lapse are out of the price specs. But what's $35 when it comes to photography?

True, $35 isnt much. Crazy to think the D3000 is already considered old, lol. Gotta love the fast pace of technology!

Due to timing and me needing to be able to capture the time lapse this Sat I guess the GoPro will be called to action.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah that's my biggest issue with digital cameras. I bought a D3100 right as the D3200 was released. So it's yesterdays news too. But the F5 still draws comments from everyone.

Yes, "out of the price specs" because clearly it would cost an extra $10,000 at least to write a 4 line program that would allow the software to do timelapses. Somehow the third parties manage to do it for like $2 a unit. Or hell, I can go to Walmart and get a little blinky ball for $1 probably that has timer circuits in it, in addition to the actual hardware.

I'm right there with you man. The fact that all DSLRs do not include this is just flat out terrible design at best, or an intentional sketchy incentive to upgrade and/or buy peripherals at worst. There's really no excuse for that.

Sort of like how they cut off exposure compensation at 4 or 5 on some cameras. Why is it not infinite on every camera? etc. They just cripple some things on purpose, for some business reason that I guess probably makes sense at some level, but not for our best interests.
