TN Renaissance Festival

I don't do many people shots, except at events like this, so my "People Skills" are pretty weak (in more ways than one!). I enjoy this event though and usually go 2 or 3 times since it runs each weekend in May. The cast really puts on a good show, and the amount of effort that goes into some of the costumes is amazing. They all talk with period accents appropriate to their characters.

There are some "Hot Spots" on the faces of some. That comes as no surprise since it was hot today, and the area where they hold this event doesn't get much of a breeze through it. The hot spots aren't shiney makeup, just plain old sweat

Here are a few from today. Not a lot of editing, just a crop primarily. There are more Here and more will be added during the month. I can't go next weekend since there is an air show I do NOT intend to miss but will probably go again the following weekend.

LUCKY!! We were gonna go to that this weekend but didnt make it out there..we are totally going for the jousting in a couple of weeks thou!!

Word of advice: Go Early! The parking area is enormous and by noon you will have a pretty good walk ahead of you The ticket window opens at 9:30 and the festival gate at 10:00. I usually get there about 9:30 and am able to park on the first row.

It's a lot of fun, especially for a photog. The costumes are outstanding and the people are great subjects.
