Today's B&W's C&C please

Went out and found a old shack or something and walked around it shooting various things. Working on comp mostly, and a few blurs, as well as manual focusing. I did learn that it seems to be easier to get the blur you want when manual focusing.

I used the B&W settings in the camera instead of post processing. I didn't really do much, occasional level adjust here and there, otherwise left pretty much as is so I can get good feedback on my actual picture taking vs editing. There are quite a few to look at so I resized them all for easier uploading etc.

Kinda wondering if anything worked, plus my eagerness to get out of the house and shoot something kinda got me out too early, was still quite bright out, but sunset is almost here, yay...

I think the blur in the ones where the wheat piece is in focus kinda gives me a headache...too much blur?

Ah, composition is not the easiest thing to do with derelict buildings ... I have a hard time with it ... though Invisible seems to have mastered it.

Yeah, too much blurry background ... sometimes does not work.

I like the two with the nails, but find myself wishing for just a bit more depth of field. If the foreground elements were completely sharp, rather than starting to blur, I would find it more attractive. In the one with the wheat, the wheat is just not strong enough to command the viewer's attention. Perhaps closer to the wheat to give it more presence. Or, switch and use the soft grain image to frame a sharper background.

On the second nail...you mention it starting to blur. I don't know why it does that. It seems whenever I get close like that above and below my focus point blurs, kind of in a diagonal line is sharp but directly above and below not so much. anyone know why?
