I've been to Yodobashi in Akhihabara a couple of times and it was an amazing place.

I remember essentially every single major manufacturer represented and that you could see/hold/touch essentially every current lens and camera body they all made. It was mind boggling! Add to that row upon row upon row of racks stuffed with accessories for all the major manufacturers.

That was the photo/optics floor so there was also a tremendous amount of binoculars/telescopes/etc..

But I also remember that there were NO bargains to be found. Everything was quite expensive.
