Way too dark in the mid-tones and shadows. I'm aware that my monitor here at work is uncalibrated and doesn't show shadow detail well, but still ...

If you're going to shoot jpg, then this sort of thing will happen sometimes in very harsh light. The camera is deciding how to render the recorded information into an image and not necessarily doing it well. It would be better to shoot raw and play with the tonal range during raw conversion to avoid this. Failing that, you could still use the PS curves function to bring up some more detail in those areas, but this won't be as good.
 
The first one reminds me of a baby sonogram for some reason... I like the third photo. It reminds me of the walking dead show for some reason.
