Maybe a little more track, a little less sky? Looks like there's light rays that are coming down from the clouds which is really cool. Although, it's pretty hard to see or make out the rays. I had to look pretty hard. Either you needed to shoot at a smaller aperture or you need to process to bring that interesting sky out a little more.
Also, try hosting with FlickR. Photobucket is notorious for poor re-sizing and sharpening algorithms.
I pulled up my computer's hard drive copy of the image and compared it to the posted image and you are right, the hard drive image in significantly sharper than the image I posted. I will try to switch to Flickr. I think the sun rays, are unfortunately, simply poor processing on my part. Maybe I will try to drop in a different sky.
It seems the image has too much magenta all over it. I did an Auto Color in Photoshop and then toned down the Vivacity a bit so the bright green wasnt so bright.
BS0604, nice HDR Image of a freight yard. The tonal qualities just seem to enhance the massiveness of the cars, the two NS SD 40-2 engines, and the tracks themselves. I did a quick crop, and it really comes together if you crop out nearly all of the darkish clouds to just above the tree line.
I'm sorry, I really liked your photo so much, I just wanted to play with it a little. I love trains, and that is such an excellent view. We have a similar view in Charlotte, of train tracks like that with the skyline in the background. Unfortunately, powerlines tend to destroy the view.
I lilke the combination of B&W and color. I have played with the same concept although never posted pictures of the effect. My picture orignianlly had several power lines running horizontally and I cloned them out in Photoshop.
Really don't like the combination of Color & B&W in this instance. The image just looses so much of the almost reality that it was, especially after Bynx's color correction. The B&W version is just too harsh & constrasty from the engine to the clouds.
