So im having alot of trouble when it comes to this area, any suggestions with this

specifically urban and town settings

Take photos? Post photos? Get constructive criticism? Then retake photos and see your improvement?

What I would do is just look for things that interest you, and try and compose them in such a manner that will make people think.
