Is it worth it to buy a used Gitzo? Does the warranty apply?

I located a Gitzo Systematic series 3 at B&H in the used department, but it is only $80.00 cheaper than brand new. Is it worth the $80 to get it new, or should I take the discount and enjoy the savings? Any opinions are helpful. Thanks!

Well, I read over the Warranty Info page at the Gitzo Website, and it looks to me like the warranty does not apply to a used purchase. Also, it looks like it only lasts for 5 years, and it not the Lifetime Warranty that I have heard about. This warranty looks about worthless, so I may get the used model and save the cash.

Anyone see a reason that I should not go this route? Is there something that I am missing in the warranty that would make it worth it?
