Various Florida Birds - C&C welcome!

Nice shots. The egrets I can identify, but I am having a bit of a problem with the first one. I can't figure out if is is a Common Tern or a Caspian Tern, or another variety. Do you happen to know? Where in Florida did you take these?

I'm afraid I don't know the names either as I'm not local to Florida but was only visiting. These were taken in Naples, Florida.

Ah yes, Naples, I know it well. Lovely place - lots of places to shoot birds around there. If you plan to go back to that part of Florida, you should look at some of the places around Fort Meyers to the north to shoot as well - Ding Darling National Wildlife Reserve is just great for spoon bills, herons, egrets, pelicans and an assortment of shore birds - there are a number of other places as well. Also, check out the east coast areas as well, Viera, Titusville and Merritt Island to name a few. For me, Florida is a bird photographer's paradise and Google is your friend for places to shoot. You might want to have a look at this site and ask OLDNED - Florida Wildlife & Nature Photography Forum - Home . HTH.

Thanks WesternGuy I certainly will!! One of my daughters is married to an American and they live in Naples so I will be visiting regularly. I already noted that this is bird paradise! Amazing birds everywhere - and most people don't notice them because they're so used to seeing them every day. I'm just there "look over there" ... "look a hawk".... driving everybody crazy!! The Keys are also fantastic for bird watching - Long Key State Park is a great and cheap place to spend the night (RV or tent).
