I've not heard anything either; but we have policy that we don't delete accounts on this site. However we do leave all posts open for editing so you can remove your photos if you wish (which I see you've already done). After that just go into your profile and change your registered email to something totally random so that the site can no longer send you any notifications; then just log out and remove the site from your favourites/bookmarks.
