Velbon Tripod

I have just walked out of my local Cash Generators with a Velbon CX444 tripod for £9. It needs a quick release adapter. Will a generic one fit or does it have to be a Velbon make? I think it was cheap because one of the screws wasn't locking in place. Turns out the arm thing ( don't know the correct terminology yet) was where a screw should have been and vice versa. Fully working now

Usually the design/style of QR plate is pretty generic, but the size may be an issue.

If you can, find a used camera shop, they usually have a box of these things that you can sort though, and hopefully find one that fits.
