I really like the first one. The detail in the net initially grabbed my eye then pulled me into the scene eventually exploring the people, the boat, and lastly the slightest hint of color in the sky.

The first photograph is just wonderful! It works as a photograph for me, independent of the content. The composition is brilliant, and the tonal range superb! The second one is good, but not one I would come back to or have on my wall, as I would the first.

Hi. #1 is very good, I like it, just one question; is it my display or the conversion to bw in the sky was not complete ? I see some blue there. #2 is a weak one. Doesn't have much of the drama of the first one, this yellow might be natural, but looks like enhanced by filter or in PP. There is a problem with contrast, horizon line is not defined and as a result the boats in far plan seem to hang in the air.
Shot was executed in sharp angle to the sun and your automatic exposure system got fooled and under exposed the shot; instead of sparks on the water there are just featureless bright blotches. This way you lost a lot of the mood of the picture. That's my opinion, only. Cheers.

I like the first one too because of the net. And to add the people from left to right reduce in scale.
