#1: I like the "in your face" look and the fact that you can see the drivers.
I think they give a perspective to how big the running gear is. I find the crop at a bottom awkward - with just the bottom of the tyres missing. I feel it might work better if all the tyre was there ... or crop harder and make it clear that you deliberately wanted to crop it out.
Looks like an unbreakable monster!!!

#2 / #4: Gee you really gave yourself a challenge with the angle you were shooting from and shutter speeds of 1/80 and 1/100. Because the vehicles are moving away from you (#2) or towards you (#4) then with those shutter speeds the cars are moving enough to get motion blur. I think you will get more keepers if you can pan with the vehicles move only across you field of view parallel to you. Both give a good sense of motion both with wheel/tyre blur and background blur (as well as having vehicles hanging in mid-air!!) Pity there are some distracting elements in between you and the vehicle in #4

#5: love the context and point of view hill. Damn that hill looks steep and the vehicle is not creeping downhill!! Dust is great dynamic element. Wish that damn branch wasn't there! I think the sneak-peak of the spectator in the bottom left adds some perspective to the size of the hill.

Cool photos from a cool race!

The weather must have been pretty cloudy and I think all the photos (#5 most of all, #3 least of all) need a bit of contrast and saturation. I like the timing in all photos and the panning in the shots where you did it.

On #1, it's a pity that you cut off the wheels. My favorite is the last one. Great composition and very dynamic look (even though you froze movement) thanks to the dust and the wheels that do not touch the ground.

Agree about the contrast ... but I would love to have been there. And an Aussie event!!! Hooray!!
Hope you get to take some more and share. Looks damn exciting, and THAT is definitely coming through your images.

thanks for the comments AceCo55 i was restricted to were i could shoot i was lucky to be allowed closer to the race them most people i rarely take photos of rally's and this only happens once a year

Yes good vantage points can make things a LOT easier. Damn its only once a year ... looks soooo good!!!
