Water photography

As some may know I am being trying taking photos of creatures in water for a few years.
Which of the following do you think has the best background
1)Nothing

Number two has the best background, the gnat larva is a cool shot though.

Tough working underwater and getting the light right. I think #2 has the best bg, imo it stands out against the rest.
