What do people think would have been better than these petri dishes?
I think they could have been better, but not sure how.

I think you could Photoshop out the Edge of the dish in both photos and they would look fine. A charming creature there...

Waterlouse, Asellus aquaticus, they are quite common a relation of woodlice

A few more, a work in progress rather than a finished article.
I think these with leaves are a lot better than ones I took in the past without.
I should of course have wiped the water from them and made sure there was no air pocket
