Thanks. "Dives" for me aren't so much about seedy as they are about comfort and ease--like an old shoe. Bartenders know you by name, your poison and your friends. They make me Joycean, thinking of lines from his Ulysses:
“I was blue mouldy for the want of that pint. Declare to God I could hear it hit the pit of my stomach with a click.”

Dive? It says it's a palace! Nice photo of it.

I like dives in a local college town (nice in the summer when the students have mostly gone home!). I've been to a number of dives around in the area over the years now that I think of it...
