So my local camera club want a website, the statement below is a surmises what the plan is;

We would hope to have a members area where individuals can display their images, a gallery of our competition, entries, a section for helpful tutorials etc.

Would anyone have an idea how much a thing like that would cost. I know a the price of commercial sites at least ones that are marketing platforms for SMEs that dont cater for online purchases. But I dont know the price or what work/time is associated with having a members area.

it would require a decent CMS with a database -- possibly there's a template/plugin for wordpress.

or just use flickr for free...
