Weekly challenge - best of 2017 12/30 - 1/5

A couple of favorite photos from November at Smith Rock. For me the first one was special because that was the "in my face" first view that morning and no one else was there first thing in the morning. By the time I got down in the bottom by the river, the few interesting clouds were gone, but the reflection was just so vivid. Being surprisingly alone for the first several moments of daylight in this beautiful area on my first visit there was incredible.

Here’s one of Princess. We had some fun with this one here on TPF with several people giving a try with different processing. I have at least 4 versions of this one but this one is the best, IMO.

Won't be long till this was a year ago. I've learned a lot since then, and might improve on it if I were to do over, but still not bad. I think the light and shadow, really added to the drama, making this a favorites from the year.

Oops

In order to get something for the Secret Santa shot, I went on a little walk, We were getting our first snow of the season, and I was mainly looking at holly trees but I also found a couple of Virginia pines.

Here's another of my favorites from 2017. Sleepy Hollow Farm in VT. Obviously if I had it to do over again, I'd have brought a saw.
