Weird thing about Lightroom

Does lightroom automatically adjust settings to a picture? When I import my pictures and view the thumbnails in the library it looks like the photos are adjusting or equalizing one by one. Anyone know what im talking about? Then when I click on a thumbnail it pops up in the develop mode and it does the same thing.

Lightroom will make some changes. I've got mine set to adjust close to what I like in processing during importing, then I've only got to make minor changes most of the time. It can actually be very convenient.

Your computer is just working hard so it is slow. It is not adjusting anything unless you told LR3 to apply certain things when you import stuff. On the import screen you can apply a preset to all file you are importing.

I know what OP is talking about without applying any presets. The thumbnail looks brighter and I see them get darker as I go into the develop area. I wondered the same thing. It only happens when you first load the images.

LR is rendering the photo, whether you have presets or it is sooc.
