Imagine getting your kids to grow up this fast...

The first shot below was taken on 05/27. As of that date these barn swallow chicks couldn't see and were totally dependent on Mom and Dad to feed them.

The next two photos were taken this evening. The four chicks could barely fit in the nest, had all their feathers, and were as alert as an adult bird. While I was shooting these Momma Swallow came to the nest, noticed me, and sounded the alarm. Much to my surprise all four chicks GOT UP AND FLEW OFF!

That's 10 days, folks, from helpless to flight. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

Wow....Ten days? It's also incredible to me that they build those nests out of twigs, mud and pebbles etc. No one showed them how... They just knew!
