Hi All, have got my 1st film camera coming for xmas. :)
It is a Rolleicord so I will have to judge my subjects before dialing in shutter speed and aperture...

Can anyone recommend a cheap and reliable way to make test? I have seen some light meters for £10 on ebay and some for £130...????

HELP please!

:)

Do you have a digital SLR camera? You could used that to take test shots, then use those settings on your Rollei.

Any Sekonic, Gossen, or Minolta meter with an LCD readout will be fine. If you want room to grow, you could buy a flash meter that also reads incident/reflective. You probably do not want a spot meter.

Also Minolta digital (Minolta III ...about £50-70). I had a bookmark to a UK online shop that currently has one for sale, but can't seem to find it.

Interestingly, u can often buy a film slr with a light meter for less then a handheld, and the meter will often be better (spot/matrix)

Thanks guys. I do have a pentax K5, but would like to have something smaller to make my light readings! Seems to be Minolta coming up as popular. Are the Non-LCD old-skool ones just as good as the modern LCD types?

Get an LCD one. You'll be really glad you did and they're not much more expensive.

I bought one of the Minolta ones in Hamburg and that was third of the price of a Pentax meter and works very well
