What the fudge?!

What is the purple eye looking think on the subjects left (our right) arm? Len's flare? I've had the 50 f/1.4 for a while and this has never happened, and yes I was using a hood, flash and photo is just coverted to jpeg from LR3.

Hood or not, the sun is just outside the frame, and right smack dab in line with the center of the image and your purple flare. Hoods are not 100% effective when it comes to flare.

Thanks for the quick reply, wasn't sure if it was flare or something on my sensor. Since we solved that, thoughts on the pic? I had to use flash on camera since I haven't had the cash to get my remote triggers yet but other than that any C&C?

I gave up doing portraiture years ago, so my experience is long out of date.

But this would be my edit:

I was able to easily clone the flare out, then I promptly cropped it out. I lightened the hair and the eyes, and removed the tree branch that made her look like she had horns.
