Which type of camera bag is the best for easing lens changing?

I'm looking for a new bag to supplement my current one. It's a sling type that's great for grab and go with just the bare essentials but its lack of space makes lens changing very clumsy. Now that I have amassed quite a few lenses I'm looking for a bag that makes lens swapping an easier process when I take a few of them along.

I've looked at backpacks, shoulder bags, messenger bags and larger sling ones but I'm not exactly sure which one would be the best at this.

For me, the easiest multi-lens bag for ease of lens swapping is the individually compartmented, traditionally-styled, flip-lid style shoulder bag. Tamrac is a classic bag maker. Some of the ones in the 600-series are what I am speaking about.
