What's new

Who said there aren't good people in this world?

Thank you for this post..... Maybe others will remember this they want to be so right. This is how men should live their lives.

I wish I could find the video as I've seen it, but the most heartwarming story like this I've ever seen is about a senior in high school who had attended every practice, every game, every scrimmage, every meeting since 7th grade.... but couldn't play because he suffered from the disease that causes brittle bones.

With 0:13 left to go in the final game of his senior year, his team was down by 30-some points. His coach told him to go in, accept a hand-off from the QB, take a knee, and an member of the opposing team will touch him on his shoulder to down him. Both teams were in on it, and that was the plan. He did so, but the opposing team never crossed the line of scrimmage.

They just stood there.

He stood up, bewildered. Fearing getting tackled if he tried to run downfield, he hesitated, walked back and forth, when finally he realized the other team was still waving him on and still yelling 'Go! Touchdown! Go!"

He ran 42 yards for his only score.

Finally, the opposing team waved at him, yelling 'GO!'

Stories like this restore my faith in people...we can all be decent if we want to.

Damn.. Kinda makes me want to go out and do something nice for someone.

The coolest part is that every single person on that field was changed by by that one play! They'll never forget it. THANKS, 480sparky.

I think saving lives on a daily basis gives you quite a few marks on the plus side.

funny enough, I never really liked going with the "I save lives" schtick. sometimes its actually true, but I think it sounds a little too pompous and arrogant to say on a regular basis.
real definitive care happens in the hospital. I just get them there in as good of shape as possible.

Fine, you are the proverbial dutch boy sticking his finger in the dyke of modern medical care.
