Cel phone shot through a car window. The Wilco Jeep (Willys Colombia) was assembled for a short time in the nineties by a small company in the city of Pereira. The company bought motors from Hercules however the company sent engines with an oil pump tube 20cm too short causing early engine failure for lack of oil in the first fifty production versions. A total of 320 were assembled. The last twelve were sent to Aruba. The vehicles of course had a poor reputation but you still see one once in a while. This one does daily public transport in Cali and is probably heavily modified with replacement componants like a deisel engine.

Thanks for the interesting back story - Here in the Philippines the most popular basic transport is the 'Jeepney' - these are 'buses' converted from abandoned WW2 Jeeps left behind by the American army, the fronts of which look quite similar to your picture.
Like your Wilco Jeeps all the ones here have had diesal engines fitted as well.
