Yes, they are something of a problem (reflected light from the clear plastic on to the blinds). I wonder if placing a sheet of paper behind the blinds so that the light coming through the window was softer would help reduce this.

Your tonal range is excellent. The rotation of 180 degrees is bothersome and not necessary, (unless this was captured down-under).

Perhaps the trouble is that psychologically more weight is assigned to darker tones and colours: the slats here are dark at the top and light at the bottom, which makes them seem top heavy. However, the 180° flip was necessary for the germination of the idea.
