I believe the law in CA prohibits anything in one's hands other than the steering wheel and/or column.

I don't think there are any laws against taking pictures. LOL. I thought there was some law to the effect "operating any and all electronics while driving", but google is not coming up with any such restriction. I think I'm ok. LOL.
