An orthodontic office in town needed a couple pictures of their staff for their web page and asked me to do it. I know its not the most interesting thing to look at but hows the lighting seem? I had to mimic the previous photographers photos of the other staff members :er:

Lighting is good. The first 1 is better though, but it may be the skin tone. The trick with portraits like these is to try to remove the double chin. The eyes will fall directly on the double chin. You can solve the double chin problem by having the persons forehead aimed at the camera. Position the camera higher and have a shoulder lower then the other. The lowest shoulder aimed at the camera (Not directly). The person must look at you from the side, not very much, just to hide the chin.

These are not head shots and your camera position is too low. The lighting is rather flat, but would probably work for a website.

Thanks guys. Would this be considered 3/4 shots?

and yes now that you have mentioned it, the camera is quite low.

Do you think the lighting is flat because of the offices over head fluorescent lights? I did use some fill light but hardly any.
