A shot from this week - this is the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, designed by Thomas Telford. Construction started in 1795 and it was opened on 26th Nov 1805. It's located at "Trevor" close to Llangollen in North Wales & forms part of the Shropshire Union Canal.

Nice. I love structures from the industrial revolution. I can imagine the discussions in the board room when this aqueduct was proposed.
 
I think this was built in the days before accountants, just wouldn't get built like this today
