I've been studying certain woods for acoustic tops, mainly Spruce at the moment.
I was taking some photos through my microscope while I was researching this certain guitar top.

These are Tracheid Cells-

Rays in Spruce- They Strengthen the wood since the grain only runs in one direction, it strengthens the wood side by side.

View of the Spruce when it was thicker(I had to slice it really thin to get a better view of the cells under the microscope)

now thats something we don't see on here very often, what sort of magnifications are they?

100x & 400x

Of course, that is on the microscope... so it's probably closer up since I cropped/the photo makes it larger anyways. (if that makes any sense)

If anyone has anything else they want me to photograph under the microscope I can do that. I'm all out of ideas for stuff.
