Well I like it except where the top of the petal burnt on you a little.

It's my theory that every house in America has at least one Forsythia bush:er:

Mine doesn't. Nor my neighbors. I think I've only seen 6 Forsythia bushes on my street.
Now you can redevelop your theory.

Maybe try a background that has more contrast?

The flower gets drowned out by the other yellow flowers in the background, especially on the darker side. Maybe try and get a shot of it against the sky or photoshop thr background colours to get the flower to pop out!?
