Yesterday's Hike: A Hawk, an Eagle, and two others...

Took a 9.3 mile hike through the local wildlife preserve yesterday morning.. it was more about scouting out some future spots for wildlife photography, but I happened to cross paths with these guys along the way! I'm really starting to enjoy being out in nature with a camera in my hand, and I'm looking forward to warmer weather and improved skills! I've definitely gotta work on getting closer, as that's the biggest thing holding back the quality of my photos as far as I can tell.

1.) I believe this is a red tailed hawk.. still learning to ID birds.

2.) An Eagle... Not sure how to tell between golden and juvenile bald eagles though.

3.) Canada Goose

4.) And finally a Robin

tamron G1,G2 Sigma C,S 150-600, Nikon 200-500,... extenders on F2.8 200mm lenses...

I watched your Flickr, nice pictures!
I like the Tamron because you can stay at F/5.6 up to 428mm (right?). The sigma is already 6.3 at 320 or something, but should be sharper in the middle (so they say).

But... I'm stealing this thread, keep posting nice bird photography ! Keep up the good work !

Nice set you are correct that is an adult red tailed hawk the eagle is a juvenile bald eagle not golden
