Out of curiosity, why did you shoot photo 1 at f/32?

Actually, the lens is at f/16. But as you focus closer, the aperture gets smaller. It's a quirk of this particular lens. If I set it to f/32 and focus as close as it will go, it well tell me I'm at f/64.
