That said its better to use the body rather than the lens - unless you happen to own a nikon

Here's the follow-up to the original test. I, like many folks, wondered if the bodies were still capable of actually taking usable pictures vs. just making shutter sounds.

Check that out, even with a scratched and smashed lens elements, the pictures look respectable... and yes, the bodies still work for the most part.
